Recently I was asked to do a painting for the meeting room of the Junta de Freguesia de Ribeira Seca on Sao Jorge. They wanted to have a view on the famous faja de Caldeira de Santo Christo.
Already years ago I made a design for a new gate of our house in Manadas on Sao Jorge. I wanted the gate to be a picture, combining the typical elements of the environment: the tail of a whale and the silhouette of the Pico vulcano at the horizon.
May 29 2010 the yearly Counterculture festival was held. This time Pieter was invited to make a piece on the festival. Here is the 2,5 by 2.5 meter MangaMusicGirl is almost finished.
The Museum in Angra do Heroísmo at Terceira on the Azores recently bought the painting 'Tourada a corda' by Pieter Adriaans. The subject of painting is the typical rope bullfight that is still today very popular on the Azores. See this painting and more at the Azorean gallery.
In the context of the Rotterdam exhibition Pieter has made a large wall-painting at the corner of the Witte de Withstraat and the Eendachtstraat in Rotterdam. The work is called 'Inner City".
Op zondag 22 november is het weer zo ver. Na de grote overzichtstentoonstelling in 2006 in Amersfoort is het weer tijd voor een grote solo tentoonstelling. Dit keer kregen we een geweldig aanbod van onze vrienden Connie en Martin van Nieuwkasteele van Restaurant Werelds om een aantal van hun panden in de Witte de Withstraat te gebruiken.
